Immersion Theater Grand Opening – Aldo Leopold Nature Center
One of our most versatile installations to date, the theater features our full complement of immersive software for Earth and space science, including Uniview, NASA JPL’s Eyes platforms and WorldViewer. Visitors use a touchscreen interface to drive their own explorations, from NASA mission data to immersive video of the ecosystems outside ALNC. The Immersion Theater was installed in a cylindrical ‘silo’ space at ALNC, and projects onto nearly 360 degrees of curved walls with high-contrast paint. The edge-blended BiClops system features two OmniFocus 30220 projection systems, with 6,000 lumens each and 3840 pixels across the screen. All content is driven from a single image-generating computer. Edge-blending is accomplished with our Omnimap geometry correction software.
It has been an honor to partner with ALNC in accomplishing their mission. This dynamic theater will engage visitors in seamless interactive tours, while fostering discussion and shedding new light on humans’ role in preserving our one, fragile place in the universe – our little blue marble.
