We brought a custom interactive Stonehenge 360° experience in a GeoDome Portal to this year’s IMERSA conference, in partnership with Barco and our clients at the Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts (IDIA Lab) at Ball State University. IMERSA’s community of fulldome creators explored Stonehenge with our WorldViewer software in the Portal, roaming through the 360° environment with a game controller to navigate.
This GeoDome system is designed for mobility, with our OmniFocus 30510 Kiosk – integrating the projection system (2560 x 1600 at 5,000 lumens) with a touchscreen, 2.0 audio and our High Performance IG. The “all-in-one” kiosk and the inflatable dome make setup simple for one person, and everything packs up onto a single shipping pallet for easy transportation.
The Stonehenge experience, created by the IDIA Lab, was created in Unity3D utilizing our Omnity Plugin, available on the Unity Asset Store. The Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts (IDIA Lab) at Ball State University explores the intersection between the arts, science, and technology. IDIA Lab is a virtual and augmented reality design studio with research facilities that include four distinct labs – including their new GeoDome Panorama, purchased right after IMERSA 2018, for creating and testing immersive content. The labs’ faculty, staff and students develop projects in partnership with international clients in this innovative studio initiative investigating the forefront of emergent design and learning.
