We were asked to help create an immersive experience for guests at an event hosted by Children of the Setting Sun Productions at the Nordic Museum in Seattle, WA. In our 4.5m GeoDome Panorama, we showcased scenes from a film about the Salmon People, indigenous tribes across the western US. WorldViewer made it easy to bring the mix of 360° and VR180 content into the GeoDome.
The 4.5m Panorama design integrates the projection system into a robust kiosk with a touchscreen, ideal for pop-up activations like this one. Guests used the touchscreen to cycle through several immersive environments with imagery from CSSP. Highlights included witnessing the return of salmon to their home waters after dam removals, viewing Salmon Island from the air, and experiencing a canoe journey/jam as well as traditional stick games. Many of the guests who attended the event were also featured in scenes from the film, which will soon be streaming on Amazon Video. It’s an honor to support the use of immersive experiences to connect audiences with the stories of indigenous people.
