EcoExploratorio Resilience Institute – GeoDome Theater

The EcoExploratorio Resilience Institute (ERI) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is using a GeoDome Theater for immersive programming. It’s part of a FEMA-funded outreach program that informs and engages the people of Puerto Rico about climate change and natural disaster mitigation. The GeoDome will travel to communities around Puerto Rico. The team will be using WorldViewer to incorporate NOAA’s Science on a Sphere datasets, 360° video, and other media that they create to look at both global processes and local effects.

The program is using a 6m-diameter GeoDome Theater with an OmniFocus 30300 projection system. The ERI team provided artwork for a customized cover. It’s one of the first deployments of our new design, which reduces the height of the dome so it’s easier to fit in spaces like schools and community centers.
