With soaring architecture inspired by natural Earth processes, the Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation at the American Museum of Natural History opened in May 2023, and features new exhibition galleries, one-of-a-kind experiences, and state-of-the-art classrooms, inviting visitors to experience the Museum not only as a place of public exhibitions out as an active scientific and educational institution. Designed by architect Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects and set into the Columbus Avenue side of the Museum complex at 79th Street in New York City, the Gilder Center includes new exhibition and learning spaces with state–of-the-art technology and access to the Museum’s world-class collections. At a time of urgent need to enhance the public understanding of science, the Gilder Center expands access to a broader range of the Museum’s resources for students, teachers, and families, offering new learning opportunities and inviting visitors to share in the excitement or discovery.

The Elumenati provided a GeoDome Panorama in the Learning with Data Classroom in the Gilder Center. A single OmniFocus projection system lights the 6.8m-diameter Panorama with 12,000 lumens, and a customized rack-mount IG lets presenters drive from either the GeoDome‘s remote tablet or their own laptops. This immersive learning lab hosts data-driven education sessions for elementary students and tours, as well as professional development for NYC teachers and graduate students; WorldViewer and OpenSpace enable exploration of topics from climate policy to scientific modeling.
