Mankato East High School – GeoDome Globe

Elumenati GeoDome Globe at Mankato Planetarium

A member of the GeoDome Network since 2008, Mankato updated their planetarium for a second time in December 2022. The new 4K GeoDome Evolver replaced an OmniFocus 200 series system with our current 300 series. The team at Mankato decided to put their decommissioned 200 series projection system to use by purchasing a customized GeoDome Globe.

The GeoDome Globe is 75cm in diameter and features a single OmniFocus projection system with an Elumenati IG, audio, and touchscreen kiosk.  Like all Elumenati systems it’s driven by WorldViewer. Mankato opted for our SOS Browser Introduction – a WorldViewer composition that lets them preview datasets and animations created for NOAA’s Science on a Sphere datasets, to identify curriculum-tied content to use in WorldViewer content on the globe. The SOS Browser is a WorldViewer Story, available through the asset store on our site.

Student helpers enjoy working with The Elumenati team as they create customized WorldViewer content for both the planetarium and the GeoDome Globe, for both student and public audiences.
